Balgo Hills, or Wirrumanu is an Aboriginal Community off the Tanami Track on the edge of the Great Sandy desert in West Australia. The nearest town is Halls Creek nearly 300 kilometres to the North-West via the Tanami Track - now called the Tanami Road.
Luurnpa is the name of the school there. Luurnpa is kukatja for the Red-Backed Kingfisher, significant in the people's dreamtime stories.
